Skylar Nicole Christensen, beloved daughter of Dena Bell Kuffel and Jeffrey Christensen, entered this world on June 11, 2001, in Colorado Springs, bringing joy and warmth to the lives of all who knew her. Tragically, she departed from us too soon on July 23, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

She leaves behind a family who adored her deeply: her sister, Taylor Ward, who is married to Ethan Ward, and her brother, Austin Christensen, who is married to Mari Henmi. Skylar's absence will be deeply felt by her immediate and extended family, as well as her wide circle of friends, who were fortunate to share in her life's journey.

Skylar was a proud graduate of Manitou High School, where she nurtured her passion for learning and personal growth. Throughout her life, Skylar demonstrated a zest for exploring the world and all its wonders. She had an insatiable curiosity about animals and nature, and her home was a sanctuary for her beloved pets. Among her cherished companions were Bo the turtle, Papi the cat, Tundra the dog, and an array of lizards, each one holding a special place in her heart.

Skylar's adventurous spirit extended to her culinary pursuits, and she found great joy in discovering new restaurants and cuisines alongside her long-term boyfriend, Danny Opperman. Together, they shared countless memories, laughter, and the pleasure of savoring life's simple pleasures.

Though petite in stature, Skylar's strength and resilience were awe-inspiring. She faced life's challenges with a determination that left a lasting impression on those around her. Her loyalty was unwavering, and her competitive spirit fuelled her pursuit of excellence in every endeavor she undertook.

Skylar's capacity for forgiveness was remarkable, and she never held grudges. Her heart was open to everyone, and she readily extended kindness and understanding to those in need. Her friends cherished her for her genuine and compassionate nature, making her a treasured confidant and companion.

The void left by Skylar's untimely departure will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind cherished memories, laughter shared, and lessons learned from a life lived with authenticity and love.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Skylar Nicole Christensen's life will be held at 2pm on July 28, 2023 at Springs Funeral Home North, 6575 Oakwood Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80923.

Skylar, your light will continue to shine bright in our hearts, and your memory will forever be a source of inspiration. May you find peace and rest, knowing that your love and presence will be missed but never forgotten.

All though we did not have the pleasure to meet Skylar, my husband and I are long time friends from Danny's Army days. Please accept our deepest condolences at the tragic and sudden passing of your Daughter/Sister. She sounds like an amazing soul who was so full of life and love.

Danny we are so incredibly sorry for your loss our dear friend. Please know you and Skylars family / friends are all in our thoughts at this time.

Skylar and I went to highschool together she was a grade below me. The memories we share are funny, interesting, some are down right scary, in every single memory I can hear us laughing together. She has an intense ability to make you smile. After I graduated we lost touch, the last time I saw her was in 2020, I wasn't in a good place and didn't have anywhere to go in the springs, I knew she still lived in the area and when I reached out she immediately welcomed me to stay with her and embraced me to feel less alone and broken. Skylar girl, I will miss you and I cherish our little friendship

skylar and i were friends in 6th grade. i remember how excited we were when we found out we would be in the same cabin on our school camping trip, and how we had promised to stick together, so our anticipated trip away from home wouldn´t be so scary without our parents.
I haven´t spoken to her in years, but I remember what an intelligent, sweet, energetic, bubbly and outgoing girl she was. my heart breaks for all who loved her. she was taken too soon. may she rest easy.
