SOFIA SNYDER Obituary
Age 17, of Morningside, died peacefully at home on January 9, 2016. Beloved daughter of Cary Dunlap Daly and Richard Snyder and stepparents, Austin Daly and Sherry Moon; adored sister of Maxfield Snyder and Austin J. Daly; stepsister to Jamie Holdren; granddaughter of Malcolm and Doris Snyder and Kathleen Dunlap; preceded in death by her grandfather, Jonathan Dunlap; also survived by great-grandmother, Lois McGurrin; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, grandpas, grandmas, and friends. Sofie was a 14 year brain cancer survivor, an artist with Creative Citizen Studios, Special Olympian; part-time employee at Life's Work, and proud student of Pioneer Education Center, where she also leaves behind many wonderful teachers, staff members, and friends. Friends welcome Wednesday 6-8 p.m., WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. Funeral Service Thursday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation in Sofia's memory. greaterpawv.wish.org.

Sophie's smile will be missed in the halls of Pioneer. I will always remember her beautiful painting for last year's prom (and her Eiffel tower earrings!) Pioneer lost a very special angel... Jimi Hutchin (+ mom)

Chase has been crazy about Sophie since he first met her at Pioneer. He wants you to know how sorry he is that she is no longer with us and he will miss her too, but he will always keep her in his prayers and in his heart.
