Sondra Roberts, 73, died on 10/02/2008 in Muskogee, OK. She was born in Muskogee on April 25, 1935 to Donald Monroe Sterling and original enrollee Lucinda Billy Easter Sterling.Sondra enjoyed everything outdoors. She loved to read, cross-stitch, garden and all kinds of sports, her children, grandchildren and friends and traveling. She lived in many states throughout the U.S. before settling back in Muskogee. Sondra was very proud of her Choctaw heritage; so much so she even learned to speak her native language. She was employed many years by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and East Texas State University. After receiving her teaching degree from Northeastern State University, she substitute taught at Sequoyah High School and Muskogee High School.Sondra was preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Norman Easter. She is survived by her children; Forest S. Roberts, Kathryn Roberts Clark and Sawney Roberts Harcrow Huckabay; her grandchildren; Karla D. Harcrow, Johanna L. Harcrow Huckabay, David R. Clark and Logan Z. Roberts, along with her beloved great-granddaughter Evelyn J. Harcrow.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at First Church of the Nazarene with Mr. Jim Stark officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhill CemeteryFuneral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
