To Logan's point, I didn't know about his cameos in the movies. He looked like a really nice guy! Stan Lee was the one who made us stop in our tracks and realize that we're all different - no matter where we live. As of last November, he's been gone for 5 years now. We'll continue to miss him for as long as possible.

Stan, you’re my childhood hero. We met when took a photo together, in 2017 Boston Comic Con, something my dad had saved up money for after my grandmother passed that same year. Although I’m sure you’ve done the same with thousands of other fans as well.
My dad passed on everything he knew about Marvel from reading the comics himself as a kid to me when I was a kid. He told me pretty much everything. He would take me to the local comic book store every chance he got, and to every comic book movie that came out. I even would regularly read the first volume omnibus of the Fantastic Four. My favorite character however has always been Spider-Man, and I absolutely love the MCU.
I grew up on Marvel. I grew up on Stan Lee and his creation. By the age of eleven I decided I wanted to be a writer. I’ve come far since then, with much more headway to go. I’m 22 now. Stan Lee, in a lot of ways, greatly contributed to the kind of person I have become today.
I just found this obituary, so I hope it was ok I wrote this now.

Growing up I was a D.C. Comics fan in the 70's and didn't get the Marvel comics. I understand why now. Stan Lee's stories were about issues I was uncomfortable with as a pre-teen/teen and D.C. was about escaping into nostalgic times. BUT, my Uncle gave me a box of comics he collected in the 60's and there were those Marvel comics. I didn't read them until my late 20's---boy did I miss something!
Then much later as an adult, I used to write Excelsior! at the end of my papers, and my teachers couldn't understand what it meant. It was how I connected to Stan Lee. Out came the Marvel movies of this past decade and my kids and I get to enjoy them. At night, after we say good night, it's 'Nuff Said! Thanks Stan.

Please accept my condolences. Please know that the God of comfort feels your pain and sorrow. He actually provides something better to look forward to. Jeremiah 29:11 specifically tells us that God wants to give us a peaceful "future and hope." Stan Lee was an inspiration to many millions of kids. SPIDERMAN was rhe first MARVEL comic series I got into. As a graphic & fine artist , I related to the intricate and almost "three-dimensional" art MARVEL comics had in them. DC was the main comic book co. --until MARVEL came along. I even made an intricate SPIDERMAN wallet when I first stated reading the series. God Bless you, Stan Lee. Even a little child ,in our family saw it in you; at age 5 she--an intelligent child said, while watching an interview you did:"What a nice man. All of the wonderful movies and ,I love when he appears in them. He is very classy." That sums it up. Thank you for being you!

Though you can only read this from you resting paradise. I just felt i had to write it to share with the world. You, even though i have never met you in person or spoke directly to you. Sir, you have been like a Father to me, a brother, my best friend... i have shed so many tears since you have passed its silly kind of. Crying so much for a stranger? Not to me Sir! To me, you will always be my Hero! Since i can first remember, you have always been a huge part of my life. Not only for entertainment through your Amazing world you imagined and made a reality. It was you as the Man you are. The only person i could deem without a doubt PURE OF HEART. You made the world smile with you shiny humor and witty jokes. Your beliefs and mantality is what i have thrived for my whole life. A world full of Gentleman, and ladies. A world full of smiles and people helping each other. No hate, or racism or bigotry. Or that i being poor doesnt mean that im not as good as everyone else. You showed me who i was and that its ok to be me. When I first learned to read I was in the 10th grade, the only reason I learned how was I had a teacher who found out I could not read. After she had taught me to read I spent my whole summer in the library reading everything I could get my hands on, and yes that included comic books. As far back as I can remember all I ever wanted to be was a Superhero. The first time I watched a real movie it was the original Spider-Man movie. Everyday after that I watched that movie again. It changed my life and now I'm on my way to college to become an actor. My goal is to play a Superhero in the MCU if I cannot do that then I'll settle with living life as a hero would. And Stan Lee showed me how to do so. If it had not been for Stan Lee my life would be heading in a very different direction right now and for that I am eternally grateful. Words can't begin to describe how heartbroken I was to hear he passed. I was in the library studying when I heard and immediately began to tear up. Stan Lee is the reason I have such an incredible relationship with my dad, he had several Marvel action figures in the basement. I knew more Marvel superheroes than Disney princesses. I loved how strong his female superheroes were and how independent they all were but knew that they were stronger with friends. It's such an honor to have been able to witness his miraculous creations during his lifetime. This past week since hearing the news I have worn one of my many Marvel shirts as a way to pay respects. Thank you Stan Lee for making such a major impact on my life.
