To the Groves family. I was sorry to learn of Steve Groves' death while biking. I did not know him personally but am an avid bicycler and we were both featured in a CDT article on 9-9-99 entitled "All Across America" by Chris Rosenblum recounting our individual Coast to Coast bicycle trips earlier that year. His iconic victory stance at the Continental Divide inspired me. I just completed my 5th Coast to Coast trip this spring. My condolences. He will be remembered.

May God bless the whole Groves family. I'm so very sorry for the loss. May God be w/ you all. From reading the other messages, he seemed like a great man:) I did not know him at all, but I just wanted to say a sympathy message, b/c I was the one who witnessed the accident. And wished I could have talked to one of the family members, to tell them that he was not alone while taking his last breath. Me and my husband where there trying to talk to him, and 2 minutes after we pulled off, he took his last breath while my husband was on the phone w/ 911...I was right by his side..I am so very sorry...but atleast he's in a better place than we are:) And my prayers are w/ you all. I mourn w/ you. May God bless you all.

Mrs. Groves,
I was saddened to hear from my mom about Steve's passing. I always enjoyed seeing you guys at the Penn State games and catching up on what was new with your family. Hearing about Steve's bike rides was always fun since both my brother and I are into biking and look forward to do some cross country rides like Steve did. God Bless.

Dear Groves Family,
It is with sadness that we learned of Stephen's passing while reading the Quincy Herald Whig on Wednesday. We have many memories of the "GROVES FAMILY" when they lived on South 15th Street in Quincy. We graduated from Quincy High School in 1958 with Penny. However, we well remember Joan, Steve, Linda, Penny & Chipper.
Fond memories.---with sincere sympathy--
