Stephen Lewis Liebert

Stephen Lewis Liebert, 61, Brownstown, passed away at 6:05 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Liebert was a member of Brownstown Church of the Nazarene. He had retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He had worked at Aisin USA for 10 years, Enkei America for five years and also had worked at Russell Stover Candies in Brownstown.
Born Oct. 31, 1948, in Evansville, he was the son of Edith Williams Liebert, who survives in Salem, and Denzil Liebert, who preceded him in death. On July 20, 1979, at Springfield, Tenn., he married Alietha Lee Silence, who survives.
Other survivors include four children, Jonathan Liebert, Seymour, Christopher Liebert, Salem, and Darla (Curtis) Kaiser and Heather (Richard) Ruddick, both of Brownstown; one brother, David (Brenda) Liebert, Salem; mother-in-law, Irene Silence, Brownstown; seven grandchildren, Kelsey Kaiser, Clate Kaiser, Angel Liebert, Richie Ruddick, Reanna Ruddick, Raven Liebert and David Liebert; and two stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gael A. Liebert, and his father-in-law, Lloyd Silence.
Steve Silence, assisted by Ben Durr, will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at Brownstown Church of the Nazarene. Burial with military rites will be at Vallonia Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
Memorials may be given to Brownstown Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or to St. Jude Hospital.
