Steve and I met in Langley Elementary School. We were like Mutt and Jeff; he was the tallest kid and I was the shortest.
On weekends during HS I would ride my bike to the farm and help him with his chores. I loved the farm and most of the time I would spend the summers with him. We dreamed of sharing a ranch in Eastern Washington raising Santa Gertrudis cattle. I remember our playing Football and he was the defensive end and I was a wing-back and I would be running a play at him and he would pick me up and set me down gently. I would get so mad at him. It was just his nature.
After his run with the Cowboys he came back to Seattle and moved in with me while he played with the Continental Football League. Boy did we eat good! Then we both grew up and took on life's challenges. I wish we could have seen more of each other, but he was in Alaska and I was in California. Our friendship has lasted a life time and beyond.
I will see you at the ranch on the other side, Steve.

Steve had a big heart and an evan bigger smile. He was an incredible person whom I had the pleasure of meeting and became good friends. I always helped him with his GM vehicle at Alaska Sales and Service. we lost a good man! Mike Marchant

Sorry that another great patriot is gone to soon. We at Langley, WA remember him well. My older bothers played football with him, and spoke of him.
