Maureen and Family: Hope that you and the children are coping with the loss of your loved one. I keep
all of you in my thoughts and prayers at this "sad" anniversary of Steve's passing. I miss having cases with
him......he was so great about being "fair" and so great about returning phone calls. I also miss his smile
and always being considerate of his colleagues. Thoughtful and caring......that was Steve!

To Steve's family,
Today I was reading the Summer issue of University of Dayton Magazine and I saw Steve's name. I am shocked and saddened to learn of Steve's passing. Steve was an outstanding criminal justice student at UD and one of the best persons I have ever had the privilege of knowing. The peace makers of this world lost a soldier.
My sympathies to your family.

Back when we didn't have cell phones or digital cameras, Steve snapped a photo of me and my son at the UD-father/son basketball camp. To this day, that photo sits on my nightstand. The memorial mass was beautiful. I know he will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Yuhas family at this difficult time. Steve and I were in the same class at UDSL. I remember him, even way back then, to be a warm and caring person and a friend to all. This world is a little sadder to not have Steve in it. May God bless his family and friends.

Steve's passing is so sad. I got to know Steve through work. I used to see him regularly at the Industrial Commission and we had some cases together. Make that against each other. But that never stopped him from befriending me. When I was a new lawyer, Steve always reached out to me to ask how I was doing and offer any advice he could. Steve was such a nice guy, always asking about me and my family, and telling me about his. I loved talking with him about UD, and UD basketball. I will miss Steve Yuhas.

We cannot imagine our lives without our dear friend Steve. He has always been there for everyone, such a giving kind man. We knew Steve both professionally and personally. His legal expertise got us through some really hard times. In happier times, we asked Steve to marry us in 2013 and, although he had never officiated at a wedding, he happily did what had to be done and he seemed to be as honored to do so as we were to have him. This past October he agreed to marry our closest friends, the Gibson's, also here at our home. Steve was a man of his word ("this is good stuff") and spent many hours helping and sharing his experience, strength and hope with us all. Just remembering his beautiful smile will help us all get through this. Our love to Mo, Daniel and Katy.

Words can not express the sorrow that we (my own family, and my/his extended family in the workers' comp community) are feeling at the loss of Steve. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Steve was a great guy and was always willing to lend a kind or supportive word. At the Workers' Comp Committee meetings he would brighten everyone's day with his quick wit and compassion. The world is a little less beautiful without him. I knew Steve for many years and sought his counsel (legal and otherwise) often. He was more than a colleague to me, but a true friend and I am going to miss my friend very much. May the Good Lord take you into His arms, Steve. God Bless.

To all who knew (and therefore adored) Steve,
Our family is also praying for Maureen and Daniel and Katy, Steve's parents and his many family members & friends who are saddened by his passing. God has gained what we have lost until we see Steve again. Until then, I pray we are all as grace-filled as Steve and his daughter Katy whose Facebook tribute I re-read hourly, trying to process what we have lost. Your family & friends will try in any way required to help you bear this heavy burden.
"Love one another". Steve knew how to show that in small and large ways. Godspeed Steve. We will help your kids they way you helped all of ours.

There is no way to fully describe the kindness, generosity, effervescence, and wit that graced Steve Yuhas. His dedication to the University of Dayton, the University of Dayton School of Law, and to the Dayton Flyers is matched only by his lifelong commitment of supporting the Catholic Church, Catholic Education, and serving his fellow man. He lived his Faith, supported his community, and loved his family with everything he had. He touched more lives in his time on this Earth than most do in 100 years, and whoever knew him was blessed by the experience. Heaven has gained an exceptional Angel, while we have lost a treasured man.
