Tarrell "Uncle T" Wilson

August 31, 1958 – March 26, 2025

Tarrell "Uncle T" Wilson, 66, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was born on August 31, 1958, in Waterproof, Louisiana, to Luke Alexander Wilson and Hattie Mae Wilson (née Gordon).

Tarrell was a man of deep faith who devoted his life to the service of the Lord at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith. His dedication extended beyond the church into his work and community. He began his career working alongside his father in Wilson, North Carolina, at the first Black-owned air conditioning and refrigeration business in the area. Later, he served as security personnel at the former Eagles Veterans Stadium.

A lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan, Tarrell found immense joy in cheering for his team. One of his most cherished moments was witnessing their Super Bowl victory surrounded by family.

In 1999, Tarrell relocated to Philadelphia to be closer to loved ones and remained there until his passing. Known for his vibrant spirit and generous heart, he brought light and laughter wherever he went. Affectionately called Unc T, Terrelly, and Uncle Relish by those close to him, he was a beloved presence in many lives.

He is lovingly remembered by five siblings: Marie "Ree Ree" Davis, Patricia Wilson, Luke Wilson II, Becky Dew, and Sheila Lee; five nieces: Heather Davis-Jones (San Juan Jones), Zahra M. Amber "Amp Amp" Davis-Diallo, Jasmine Wilson-Kirkland (Donald Kirkland), Michelle Wilson, and Dominique Wilson; three nephews: Brian Gordon Davis, Brandon L. Wilson, and Luke Wilson III; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews: Yara Diallo-Hyman, M. Lee Diallo-Hyman, Markeem Wilson, Kayleigh Dietz, Liya Grace Davis-Jones, Shakia A. Davis-Jones, and Beniam Elias Davis-Jones; along with a host of cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Nehemiah Wilson; his sister Carolyn Lorraine Wilson, his father Luke Alexander Wilson and mother Hattie Mae Wilson (née Gordon).

"You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." -Psalm 16:11
