He attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. Ted was a Phi Delta Theta Fraternity member. Ted and Sandy loved each other dearly. They were married and returned to Colorado where Ted finished College. Ted and Sandy are survived by 5 children; Tammy (Jerry) Proefrock, Terry Dittus, Debbie (Bob) Burdi, Edward III, also known as Ted (Kathy) Becker, and Corey (Marvin) Weaver. The Legacy continued with 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Ted and Sandy loved being parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. The center of their lives was their family. Friends were so cherished. Entertaining, traveling, social events, family celebrations, faith, and family involvement in sporting events and family participation in athletics were their lives. Ted and Sandy built a life enjoying Flossmoor Country Club where he was a former president. He also enjoyed his membership at the Union League Club of Chicago. Ted was the founder and owner of Energetix, LLC.
Ted and Sandy spent as much time as they could at their favorite place, Corey Lake, Michigan. Corey Lake lifetime friendships meant so much to Ted and Sandy. As a young boy, he spent countless summers with his grandmother at Corey Lake. This is the foundation of his love for Corey Lake. He stayed at Corey Lake Camp Eberhart during the summer months. Growing fond of the camp, Ted is a proud supporter of the camp. Ted and Sandy initiated an Annual Corey Lake Fourth of July Parade and refreshment event that they were touched every year with the attendance and support. Their children, grandchildren, and now great grandchildren, hold dear to their hearts this special home away from home.
Ted was preceded in death by Sandy. He then married Shirley Winslow, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Ted's family expanded to 7 children; daughters, Julie Kennedy and Jennifer Levy. Grandchildren 17 and great grandchildren 15. Many fun and enjoyable times were spent in Arizona where Ted and Shirley resided and at Corey Lake during the summers. Ted and Shirley were so happy to host family gatherings and events. Family and friends were so important to both of them. With the family expansion, great memories and friendships were developed.
Ted celebrated his 90th birthday with his family, surprising him with grandchildren being present, for a wonderful dinner and evening. He also celebrated Thanksgiving with family and friends at Corey Lake.
