Terrance Martin

Terrance L. Martin, "Terry," 61, of Rochester, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Hospital — Saint Marys Campus after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Terry was born July 5, 1955, in Rochester to Gale and Eloise (Kohrt) Martin. On Dec. 18, 1981, in Rochester, he married Karen Shanahan. Terry worked for Interstate Roofing for more than 20 years and he really enjoyed and took pride in his lifelong career as a roofer. He enjoyed hunting and loved spending time outdoors and working with his hands, making and fixing things. Terry loved spending time restoring his 1957 Chevy Bel Air and attending area car shows. He also had a love for traveling and his favorite destination was his time spent in Duluth. Terry was known for his quick wit and his willingness to always be there for anyone when they needed him. His greatest passion was spending time with his grandchildren.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Karen Martin; children, Shawn Martin of Rochester and Nicole Martin of Rochester; grandchildren, Lyric Michael Cole Martin and Alyxandra Serenity Lynn Hughes both of Rochester. Terry is also survived by his father, Gale Martin; sister, Charlotte (Greg) Anderson; brothers, David (Susan) Martin, Roger Martin, Steve (Tena) Martin, Loren (Jennifer) Martin, and Allan (Jodi) Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Eloise.
