Terry Johnson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 31, 2024.
Terry Johnson, aged 78, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2024, in Fall River, Massachusetts at Charlton Memorial Hospital. In his final weeks he spent most of his time with his 2 sons Terry and Randy. The 3 of them had a bond that will never be forgotten.

Terry was born on September 15, 1945, in Altoona, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Hollidaysburg Area High School, Terry honorably served in the Navy for four years. Following his service, he pursued a career working as a commercial fisherman. He became captain of the boat "Mike and tod" and later became an Owner/operator with his own boat the "Missy Jay"

Terry was known among his peers and loved ones as a great friend and a loving father. He was an avid outdoorsman that would spend much of his free time hunting and fishing. He would often go on hunting trips in Maine and made a few trips back to Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his sons, Terry and Randy Johnson; his ex-wife, Gina Johnson; his grandchildren, Jared, Tyler, Jaymie, and Kylie Johnson and his brother Gary Johnson. Terry was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry, Duane and Jim Johnson.

No funeral will be held

He will be remembered for his strong, gentle presence and his love for his family.

My condolences for your loss. I remember all the things he taught me about fishing when I first started. All the great times Terry and Randy and I spent together on the water and land. You will be missed.

My sincere condolences for your loss. Your dad always made me laugh whenever I would come over with his silly ball busting jokes. He will be missed but not forgotten.

I probably forgot more than I will ever remember but Uncle Terry was always smiling and laughing and always made us laugh. He reminded me of Popeye for some reason. So many memories of them coming to visit and bringing lobster for gram to boil, riding the train with my dad to Rhode Island to visit and always being served lobster and other seafood while we were there. I can blame him for my love of lobster. The whole family going up for little Terry's wedding. And, most recently, taking Terry and Uncle Jim and Aunt Kay to the Bedford Speedway and tailgating and watching the races as well as picnics at Lori's house with him and the family. Treasured memories.

We have so many memories with Uncle Terry but one of my favorite was when he came home the last few years and rode the train to Pennsylvania to visit for my husband John & cousin Val´s 50 th Birthday party and all of the family got together .Playing cornhole, listening to the live band, enjoying family time together having lots of laughs. also every year Uncle terry and their whole family would come to Pennsylvania every November for hunting season and we were all so excited and couldn´t wait each year for hunting deer, family meals together, the whole family piling in his truck to go spotting deer. I would always have to sit beside Uncle terry and he would let me steer the wheel while he spotted out the window. We Love&miss you so much Uncle Terry.Your memories will always keep going .Love you!!!
