Tessa Kane Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 1, 2023.

It is with great sadness that the family of Tessa Catherine Kane announces her passing on February 21, 2023. Tessa, 2, is the cherished daughter of Jack and Emily Kane. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her older sister Molly, younger sister Mary, maternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. David and Valerie Dieling, paternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Kevin and Patricia Kane, and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends, who all loved her dearly. Tessa was very calm, contemplative and had a beautiful soul full of energy. She loved to laugh and to make others smile. She was adored by her many friends, teachers, and family. She was a student at the St. James Day School where she was surrounded by teachers and friends that adored her. Tessa loved the beach, swimming, dancing, and her favorite stuffed animal “BunnyBun.” Her radiant energy, silly sense of humor and precious love were contagious, and her spirit will be forever ubiquitous. The family would like to give thanks for the generous outpouring of support from friends, family, community, and the St. James Parish. A visitation will be on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 9:00am in the Great Hall at St. James Episcopal Church, Wilmington, NC. The funeral service will follow at 11:00am in the Church at St. James by The Reverend Gray Hodsdon, Celebrant, and The Reverend Phillip Craig, Jr., Preacher, followed by a gravesite service at Oleander Memorial Garden. To honor Tessa's fun spirit and colorful personality, the family has requested that everyone dress in their favorite bright colors instead of the traditional black. Let's celebrate Tessa with a rainbow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Tessa’s memory may be made at the link that follows:  https://www.gofundme.com/f/private-fundraiser-for-the-family-of-tessa-kane

Holding your baby girl Tessa and family in my heart with great joy that she was able to be here to bring soooo much joy and love even if for such a short time. Tessa was a bundle of love, she was greatly loved by all who were lucky enough to see her beautiful smile. Fly high God's sweet and newest little Angel and may all the walls of heavens ring with the love and laughter that you will bring with the joyful sound of your laughter. Amen

Thinking of your family and your adorable Tessa. Know that she is being thought of and remembered by many, including those that didn't get the pleasure of meeting her. ~St. James Parishioner

Tessa was such a joyful girl, while helping with drop off and it was easy to see how much she loved Molly and how she was quickly wrapped up in sweet hugs with her teachers. Praying for the peace and comfort only God can provide and hoping you see many sweet reminders of your beautiful Tessa everyday.

What a precious little girl. Although I did not know her,
am a lifetime member of St. James. In the role of a fellow church member I felt compelled to reach out and tell sweet Tessa’s family that you are in mine and my husband’s prayers as you try to cope with this tragic loss. Elizabeth and Billy Owens

May all the sweet memories of Tessa bring you comfort during this hard time! My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. Seeing Tessa’s smiling face in the mornings, her excitement and joy when seeing Molly on the playground, in the hallway and at carpool pick up at St. James Day School was indescribable! She loved playing “mommy and baby” with her friends in the classroom and definitely worried about where “Bon-bon” was when she wasn’t in her bookbag or in her arms. Those precious rosy cheeks and that sweet laugh were so contagious! I will forever miss those giant hugs and cuddles! Unforgettable memories!
Words, however kind, will not settle your sorrows, but those who care for you all share your grief, wish you comfort and peace of mind. We love you and will always be here for you!

Tessa’s big heart and personality were contagious. It is my greatest privilege to have cared for her and Molly. One of my favorite memories is Tessa taking some of her first steps in the Wrightsville Beach house. My heart breaks for you and your family during this time.

Dear Kane and Dieling Family, my heart is broken hearing about your beautiful daughter and granddaughter. Her tribute was written with such love and care. I will keep all of you in my continued prayers. I pray our Lord is by each and every one of you during this most difficult time. Prayers for your dear Molly and Mary, they are so young, but I know they feel the loss in their lives. May God Bless you all and keep you close during this most heart wrenching time.

Our sweet little butterfly Tessa. Grandma and Papa will always and forever have you in our hearts. We love you so very much. Your Uncle Kyle will hold your hand now and sing you songs. We will never know why God called you back to his arms, but your smile will always be a bright light in our hearts. One day we will be reunited and I will get to see your silly smile again.
Love you forever and ever
