DANNEMORA — Theresa May Brunell, 82, of Pleasant Street, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Redford on Oct. 20, 1926, the daughter of Wilfred and Dorothy (Anderson) Gauthier.

Theresa married Bernard Brunell on Sept. 11, 1950, at the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Bernard died May 18, 1999.

Mrs. Brunell was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora, a member of the Home Bureau and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxillary.

Theresa worked for Howard Johnson's for 45 years as a waitress, retiring in 2001 and later returned as a hostess.

She was also a partner with her mother for many years in the Sportsman Hotel in Redford.

Theresa was an accomplished seamstress and a wonderful cook, baker and homemaker. She was very generous to local charities with her time and talents. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and her wide circle of friends.

Survivors include one sister, Rita Nephew of Mineville, NY; three special nieces who were like her daughters, Roxanne Waling, Cyndy Welker and Renee Riley; one special great-nephew, Mathew Waling, who is like a grandson; one special great-niece, Amber Riley, who is like a granddaughter, and 19 nieces and nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by her husband; three sisters, Janet Forkey, Alice Coryer and Regina Fournier; two brothers, Alfred Gauthier and Harvey Gauthier; and one niece, Deborah Coryer.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 69 Court St., Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at noon at St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora.

Burial will be at a later date in the spring in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Church of the Assumption in Redford, St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora or the Dannemora Food Bank.

I worked in the office at Howard Johnson's and Theresa brought me many cups of coffee. She was a great lady. (1967) My sympathy to the family.

I work with Theresa back in 1980 at Howard Johnsons she helped me out alot a lady I will never forget, my thoughts and prayers are with her family. God Bless You all.
