Theresa Darling ( Nee Romeo ) 87 formerly of Scotch Plains, died peacefully on January 7, 2023 at the Center for Hope Hospice, in Scotch Plains.
A visitation will be held on January 11, from 4-7 pm at the Rossi Funeral Home 1937 Westfield Avenue, Scotch Plains, with a service being offered at 6:30 pm by Rev. Susanna Cates Rector of All Saints Episcopal Church in Scotch Plains.
Theresa was born in Jersey City, NJ living in Fanwood, Scotch Plains and White House Station, NJ for the majority of her life. Theresa wore many hats when it came to her working career, from Secretary to Relator and even a short stint at owning her own business with a friend. Theresa graduated in 2000 from Thomas A Edison State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Gerontology and became a Certified Gerontologist. She was an active member of the New Comers Club of Scotch Plains-Fanwood, Suburban Club and an Active member of All Saints Episcopal Church.
Theresa was an avid reader, loved astrology, entertaining and always looked forward to her next travel adventure. She had a kind personality and warm smile that was contagious to everyone she met.
Theresa is pre-deceased by her husbands, John Ulrich Swadba,1976 and Gerald Darling, 2017.
She is survived by her loving children, John Swadba and wife Lauriann, Kathy and husband Robert Hunt. and Lore and husband Matt Walsh. Step Children Jay and wife Laura, Bill and Darlene, Michael and wife Karen, Patti and husband Brian Dalmas. Cherished grandchildren: Taryn, John, MaryCate, Kellie, Matthew, Brandon, Ryan, Megan, Britney, Jessica, Patrick, Nicole, Kristen, Ashley, Samantha, Hailey Sydney, Kelly, Billy Michael, and John.
