Thomas Caronna Obituary

Published by The New Orleans Advocate from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2, 2017.
Thomas Philip Caronna passed away at his home on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the age of 39. He was the loving and devoted father of Brooklyn Taylor Caronna. Beloved son of Thomas Vito and Deborah Musmeci Caronna. Brother of Geena M. Caronna (Justin) and the late Theresa Caronna. Grandson of the late Vito and Zelda Caronna & Philip and Elaine Musmeci. Nephew of Victor J. Caronna (Vicky), Philip A. Musmeci and Benny Musmeci. Proud uncle of Beau Johnson and Spencer Johnson. Also survived and fondly remembered by his cousins Jason V. Caronna (Lauren), Allyson R. Musmeci, Julien Caronna and Sophia Caronna. Thomas was born on December 20, 1977 in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He enjoyed playing video games and his love for the Oakland Raiders was rivaled only by the love for his daughter Brooklyn; thus his Facebook page was named Brooklyn Raiderz. He was kind & generous and was always there to help his family and friends. Thomas will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM. Inurnment will be private. Tommy,

You were a light here
And I suppose You always will be
Shining above for the world to see.

You fought many battles here on earth
But always gave others all you were worth.

Even in your fight to survive you somehow found the time to reach out to an old friend,
and now your love and kindness will live on through sweet Brooklyn.

You are missed Tommy. Prayers to His family especially Debbie and Brooklyn.

Tommy and I went to Lake Castle together as kids. We would spend almost every weekend together during junior high. As adults, he was my roommate and my drummer in a band called Plastic Soul. To this day I still have recordings of Tommy playing drums. He was a good drummer and a great friend. Love and prayers to his family. See you on the other side, brother!!!

I had not seen Tommy in many years. I remember him as a sweet and kind little boy. My son Jeff always loved to spend the night at Tommy's house. They were good friends. My heart breaks that he was taken at such a young age. He always had a mischievous little smile. I am very proud to have known Tommy even if it was just a short while. Love you Tom and Debbie. You know I feel your pain personally. They live in our hearts forever.

So sorry to hear of Tommy's passing. He was a friend of my son Jason and always had a smile whenever he came over. I remember one particular time when we had some deer roast and between Jason & Tommy they polished it off and were looking for more! I pray that the family will find comfort in happy memories. He will be missed!
