We grew-up together in the Glenwood/Hazelwood area and knew each other since our days at Burgwin elementary school.
Tom was always passionate about sports when we were growing-up. He also love cracking jokes...guy was funny!
My family knew the entire Hepner family very well for decades. In fact everybody in the area knew the family well.
Why ?
Because when you heard the name Hepner you knew it meant respect for others, honor, always friendly, loving, strong family bonds, people you wanted to be around, and just good people.
That was my friend cool Tom !
To his family I say keep this in mind. We do not know when our time is up on Earth. However, eventually we will all meet again in Heaven. The Glenwood/Hazelwood section of Heaven to be exact.
We will see Tom again dressed in pure white in the company of the Lord. It will be a glorious day for all of us!
God bless my friend Tom and his entire family.

So sorry to hear about Tom. He worked for me in Squirrel Hill and was always in a good mood. Talked about his sons all of the time. A great and genuine guy. He will be truly missed.

Tommy had such presence. You knew when he entered a room without even seeing him. I'm sure it was the same when he stepped through The Pearly Gates. Welcomed with open arms and a bottle of Jameson. Our prayers and love for the family.

Tommy will always be remembered in our house, he was more than a great base ball coach but a Really Nice Guy who loved to be at the ball field with all the kids/young men teaching them life skills along with the love of baseball. I just saw Tom in July when he picked up the keys to my unit in Deep Creek!! I can't believe it... He certainly looked very healthy -- they say God takes the "good" ones early to help watch over their families from above.
