He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Venida Tidd Layfield, his parents, one brother, George Wilburn Layfield and one sister, Inez Layfield Wiggins. Mr. Layfield is survived by his dear sister, Sara Layfield King of Albany, Ga.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Layfield Skinner and husband, Norman of Chattanooga, Tenn., Amy Layfield Parker and husband, Steve Parker of Ellaville, Ga.; one son, Thomas W. I was saddened to hear of the death of Uncle Tom. I have many pleasant memories of both he and Aunt Venida in my younger days. Heaven is certainly much richer having obtained both of them. My condolences to his family and friends.

Tammy called me last night to inform me of Uncle Tom`s passing. I am so sorry to hear of this and wish to offer my sympathy to his family and loved ones. I liked Uncle Tom alot. He was really good to me and my family after I got back home from overseas with the military. I have many fond memories of him and Aunt Venida. Take care and God Bless!
