Deepest sympathies to Toms family and friends. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting him, we played against his womens team quite a few times. Great guy out there on the field for sure. Maybe we will all play together again one day. God bless, and prayers for the family.

I just want Tom's family to know that Triple Crown Softball whom I also work with has decided in Oct. to re-name it's woman's upper division to the Tom Moates upper division, also they have added an award for the team who has the best sportsmanship for there last tournament in the United States.
It will be presented by myself and his woman's team The Hot Shot's.

What a true testimony for Tom!!! I feel blessed to have just know him and miss him and his e-mail's already.
I felt his family and friend's should know this information as it speaks directly to how Tom was on and off the field!!

If you would like to see what they have said please go triplecrownsports.com and clink on slowpitch, clink tournament's and click on all states and then it pull up tournaments and look for St.Augstine and stroll down the page and you will see what they have written.

Thanks,
Nancy Dillon

I typed and retyped this entry so many times, I am truly at a loss for words to express my heartache for your pain. All I can say is that Tom was a man that loved his girls more than anything in the world! A love that was apparent every time he looked at them both.

Brenda, I am so very sorry about the loss of Tommy. I too like many of the others remember our younger days in Moultrie. We all had so much fun then just didn't realize it. I sure miss all those days. Just know that your brothers loved you very much and I promise they are looking out for you. I'm not so sure they ever forgave me for bringing you to Louisiana with me. But I know they loved you and Ellie. Brenda, just know I am only an hour away and will always be here for you.I will keep you all in my prayers.

I was so shocked to read Tommy's obituary in the Observer. I last seen him at the funeral of his brother Gene. It was so good to see him and Brenda, even though it was a sad time. The three of them, Tommy, Gene and Brenda had been such good friends of mine and my brother (Gary) during our youth. There has been so many wonderful things written in this "Guest Book" that has made me so proud, and so thankful that he was loved and admired by so many. We never know when we will be called home, It makes you think ..... what would people say about us? I'll see you in heaven..... Love, Jan

I have known Tommy for over 40 years and I have so many good memories of him. I haven't seen him in a long time but I know if I did he would have that big beautiful smile of his plastered on his face. He was one of the sweetest most sincere people that I have ever known in my life. We have played many a game of ball with Brenda and Gene and all the other kids that lived around us when we were growing up. We all got along so good and had so much fun...those were the days! Tommy just know you have touched many lives and left so many memories and were much loved by all that crossed your path and were lucky enough to be called "FRIEND" by you. Brenda and all the loved ones left behind rest assured that Tommy will always be with you and is an angel watching over you from above.

The news of your loss was shocking to me. It has been some time since I last saw Tom, as I use to work with him but he was always very upbeat and smiling. He made hard days seem bearable. We never know the number of lifes we have touched until we are gone, nor how greatly we will be missed but I hope that his family knows now.
Tom you were a good person. You attended my fathers funeral and as you were there for me, I wish I could have been there for your family. May they find comfort in the coming days with the support of loving family and friends and may God embrace them during this difficult time and reassure them that you are in a great place. You will be missed.

To The Moates Family,
Please know that we have lost one of the best best men I have ever met. He was a perfect gentleman and never lost his smile, for the ladies of of his softball team there will be a void that can never be filled now.
I am still in shock and can not finds the words to say jut how much Tom ment to many of us. It is our loss now but God's gain for he must of needed Tom more than us here on earth, I trust in the Lord and all he does, while we do not always understand the why? But he does!!
Tom I will miss your smile, your laugh and your e-mail's just asking how my husband is doing. When I walk by the wall at LRMC and saw your picture early this year I showed my husband and told him who you were and said other than him Tom was the classest man I have ever met.

My heart goes out to all who will miss him. There will not be another one like him no doubt.

May God Bless him and his family and give them the strenth to understand and have the wisdom to go forward just as Tom would want them to do!!

God Bless!!!
Nancy Dillon
