QUIGLEY THOMAS JOSEPH
Died peacefully, with loving care and support from his brothers and their families Monday, Dec. 22, 2008. Tom was born Jan. 15, 1944, in Pittsburgh, to Mary Cagney and Peter John Quigley. He was raised and educated in Brentwood. Tom was an accomplished musician who performed on the Las Vegas Strip for many years. He was a business agent for the Musicians' Union and will be remembered by many when he manned the picket lines in the 1989 musicians' strike on roller skates. Tom will also be remembered for his Irish wit, his commitment to the maintaining live music in Las Vegas showrooms and securing benefits for lounge musicians. Tom was an avid roller blade skater and took up ice skating and photography during his retirement. Tom was preceded in death by his parents. He will be dearly missed by those who survived him, brothers, Roger (Dianne) Quigley of Champion, PA and Peter (Ruth) Quigley of Las Vegas; nephews, Tim (Joan) Quigley of Bethel Park, PA and their children, Lexie, Evie and Zane, Kevin (Corey) Quigley of Quechee, Vermont, Brian (Casey) Quigley of Pittsburgh, Peter Quigley and Bill Thornton, both of Las Vegas; and niece Gretchen Thornton of Washington, D.C. Tom also leaves behind many cousins and friends whose kind visits, cards and calls gave him great comfort. There will be memorial service at 1pm Monday, Dec. 29, at PALM MORTUARY, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas.
