my son Gordon sends his condolances from Boston, where he is a music student. men like Tom were so important to him for their willingness to take him under their wing and freely share their knowledge. i still remember how excited he was the night he met Tom - "what a guy" he said, "and can he ever play!"

Tom was a wonderful banjo player and a kind human being. He will be sadly mixed by all those who counted on him to come up with grand versions of the old bluegrass banjo classics. He's plying with the angels now.

I am sorry for your loss. Our thoughts are with you and your family during these difficult times. Tom was a good man and I always enjoyed his wittiness and attitude on life. God bless.
