I will never forget Dr. Thomas Rees. Many years ago I was a scrub nurse with Dr. Rees at NYU Medical Center. I was new in this country and learned so much from him, it was a pleasure and privilege to know this person.

Early in 1965 I was taken to Manhattan Eye & Ear Hospital, having been severely bitten on my face by a dog. I was 17. Dr. Rees performed emergency plastic surgery on my nose, improvising a new protocol in the process. I will never forget the kindness and reassurance given to a young college girl by this world-class surgeon. I was able to return to school and live a happy life thanks to him. He used his formidable gifts to heal so many in need. My deepest sympathy to his family on the loss of this special man.

I had the privilege of working for Tom Rees for over 5 years and got to know his family, who lived upstairs from the office. I wish Tom and Liz my heartfelt condolences. Your Dad and Mom were very special people in what they offered me and everyone they came in touch with.
