Thomas "Tom" Schroeder

Schroeder Thomas "Tom" Schroeder, age 63, of Wilton, MN died Friday, November 14, 2003 at his home. Funeral will be at 10 AM Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003 in First Lutheran Church, Bemidji, MN with Rev. Beth Caulfield officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and for one hour before the services on Wednesday at church. Burial Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji, MN. Tom was born August 28, 1940 in Bemidji, MN to W.G. "Buck" and Dorothy (Dybvig) Schroeder. He grew up in Grant Valley Township, attending Riverside Elementary School and graduating from Bemidji H.S. in 1958. He farmed with his father and spent lots of time showing sheep. He married Rosemary Jewell Sept. 9, 1963 in Mpls, MN. They resided in Wilton, where he continued to farm. He worked construction and went to work for Aconite as a Truck Driver hauling heavy equipment until his retirement in the fall of 2002. He was active in 4-H as a youth, winning many trips to the State Fair with his livestock. He continued to show sheep for several years after 4-H winning many ribbons and trophies in Minnesota and surrounding states. He enjoyed hunting and farming. Survived by 3 daughters, Lynn (Jeff) Marden, Wilton, Renee' Nikki (Don) Josefson, Bemidji, Laurie (Ken) Gileck, Linwood, MN; 2 sons, Bob (Janelle) Schroeder, Mora, MN and Bill (Jodi) Schroeder, Bemidji; mother, Dorothy Schroeder, Stillwater, MN; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Wes Schroeder, Loretto, MN, Jerry (Diane) Schroeder, Hot Springs, SD; 3 sisters, Sally (Ron) Colindres, San Rafael, CA, Nancy (John) Koonce, Somerset, WI and Joni (Tim) Jensen, Scio, OR. He was preceded in death by his Father, W.G. "Buck" Schroeder.
