SLAUGHTER, Thomas 1925 - 2004 We regret to announce the passing of Tom Slaughter at the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital. This gallant man finally succumbed to cancer following a diagnosis on June 4, 2004. He leaves behind a close knit family, his wife Joani, daughter Lianne (Carl), daughter Sarah Leigh (Sherwood), his special loves Madison and Tevye, his dear sister Carol (Doug), U.K. and especially his pet Tigger. Tom commenced his career in England as a Tool and Die Maker. He became a teacher in Canada and taught at Merivale High School and the Earl of March High School. Always an avid sportsman, Tom's special interests included cricket, soccer, golfing and canoeing. He took advantage of retirement and arranged many winter vacations for himself and Joani. Gratitude is expressed to the Elisabeth Bruyere Hospital for their loving care both for Tom and the family. Thanks also for the support of many friends in Canada and the U.K. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The patriarch of the Slaughter family left for his final canoe trip on September 9, 2004. "God be with you darling". "Bye Farvie". "We love you Dad."
