THOMAS RAY "TRAY" VICKERY III
"Tray" was born on February 13, 1993 to Thomas Ray Vickery, II and RoseMary Dovalina Vickery in Victoria, Texas. He was raised in Kenedy and attended Kenedy Schools where he graduated from, Class of 2011. He and his family were all active members in the First Baptist Church in Kenedy. Tray was also an active member in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the FFA, The 4-H and played football. Tray never failed to find time for volunteering so freely; wherever and whenever it was needed.
Hunting hogs with his dogs was a passion only surpassed by his love for his Savior Jesus Christ. Tray truly cherished his family and his friends and enjoyed spending time with each of them. He was a happy young man with an infectious smile and a servant's heart that never met a stranger; no matter what their age.
Tray leaves behind his parents, Thomas Ray, II, and RoseMary Vickery; his grandmother, Elaine Vickery; his grandparents Lewis and Maria Collins; his sisters, Lillian Vickery and Laurel Vickery; his brother, Travis Vickery; and his aunts and uncles, Brain and Kathy Vickery, Stacey Vickery, Roger and Belinda Dovalina, John and Rachel Dovalina, Sally Dovalina and Michael and Sarah Booker.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church, Kenedy, Texas officiated by, Rev. John Wheat.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that donations be made the Tray Vickery Memorial Fund c/o Wells Fargo.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Corky Vickery, Ajax Vickery, Travis Vickery, Brian Vickery, Roger Dovalina and John Dovalina. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Max Vickery, Michael Booker, Noble Gilchrest, Joseph Barkley and Joe Escandon.

My sweet sweet Tray! I can't put into words what a light to this world you were! You were the first person I met when we moved here. You helped us move in to our little apartment and you just walked right up to me and greeted me with that hugely beautiful smile. You were such a great friend to Rhett and Reed and one of the biggest reasons the boys fit in so quickly here. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of you. I miss your smile and I miss your rebel yell! However, I know you are here constantly watching over your family and friends,just like you always did and I know that one day we will all get to see that smile again!! We love you Tray!!! Thanks for always having our backs!!!

I'll miss you forever. There's a hole in my heart right now brother but I know it'll be filled on the day we meet again. I love you and look forward to that day and I'll make you proud in the meantime. Kenedy, TX lost a lot of its spirit on Thursday, but it gained the strongest guardian angel it's ever known. Tray although I never met you anyone who knows your Aunt Stacey…knows you. Her pride in you was absolute and without reservation!! The grief she feels will only be healed by the wonderful memories she made with you!! We too lost a loved one young and tragic … my favorite saying since then is the most important thing we can do in life is not to worry about making money … make memories!! I had the pleasure of getting to know Tray at camp Rio Vista.
He was in my small group and was so sweet and was not shy about leading prayer. I even had an invitation to go pig hunting with him. His smile was amazing! I will miss him so.

With a thought of confusion, i remember the thought you told me when i first met you, "your beautiful even when you cry" i had rededicated my life to Jesus and we had never met, i just randomly gave you my number on a old piece of duct tape. you always have been the person i went to when i needed a sweet word to hear, or when i needed someone to share there strength with God. I find myself thankful for having the honor of getting to know Tray so well these past few years, his personality lit up any room. I remember the first time we got together at that mexican food restaraunt and I remember just sitting back thinking to myself how wonderful the kids were together always full of laughter and jokes, picking on each other and having a blast. Even though laughter has been replaced by tears, our hearts are warmed by the knoweledge that Tray is smiling and laughing with Jesus. He was such a special guy! He will be missed. Eventhough Robert and I had only known Tray for a little over a year, he made a huge impression on us.
