I commented at the time but wasn't sure if it was the Tom Andrews I went to Cook School with in the early 50's. Now I'm convinced it was. I remember him as being a very personable, outgoing, smiling guy. Proud to be Greek. Nobody messed with him as he was tougher than hell, a superb athlete who could run like a deer and throw a ball a country mile. I know he went on to be an outstanding football player at Calumet high school. So some 16 years later I'm remebering Tom and expressing regrets.

Dear Andriopoulos Family,
My brother, Niko Drivas, shared the sad news of Tom's passing. I have such fond memories of Tom, he was a good friend to my dad, Tom Drivas, he also sends his condolences from Greece. I can still visualize the three Tom's sitting @ 7 Stars & Rose Garden chit chatting every afternoon. May you have comfort, peace, & hope through this mourning time.
God Bless,

To the family of Tom...I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers during this time...I am truly very sorry for your loss...Nothing can console you right now, but remember that God is there to allow you to be strong, even though you may think that it isn't possible. Keeping his memory in your heart and in your mind will be the key to help you get through this rough time...Stay strong, and remember we are always here for you..

Dear Andriopoulos Family,
I was just told of Tom's passing yesterday evening(1/6/07). My deepest sympathy for your great loss. Growing up in the restaurant business (Rose Garde Cafe in Elk Grove) I was introduced to Tom through my father (Anastasios(Tom) Drivas) and I'll always remember Tom's simple Greek antidotes to life's problems. Tom had a tough exterior but was a very gentle man inside. May the memories of Tom live forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
God Bless,

We only knew Tom for 3 -4 years but he was a larger than life character and he will remain that as everytime you think of him you will laugh with a warm smile as he always had an answer, a story, a joke but most of all a big heart.... It is a great legecy to pass on! He was a proud Greek man who loved his family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My condolences to the Andriopoulos family. I am wondering if Tom went to Cook School on the south side of Chicago during the late '40's-early '50's. I had a friend there whom I knew as Tom Andrews but who also had a Greek surname. If this is the same person I'd appreciate knowing. He would be in his late '60's in age now. Again, my regrets.

To the Andriopoulos Family,
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. You all know how much I enjoyed Tom. Many long nights, ages ago, as we kids had to hang out while our parents were busy "socializing!" Those were some good times that I will always fondly remember. Your husband/father was bigger than life - may his memory be eternal.
Fondly,
Virginia

Theo Tom "The Duke" was a charasmatic larger than life man. He walked tall and always had a smile on his face. His wit and charm will never be surpassed; he was an orginal. Excellent cousin to my father. Always kept him in check with his weekly calls.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Dad, I couldn't ask for a better family to be a part of. I thought of you as a father, not a father-in-law. I will miss you just as much as my father that passed away 18 years ago. Our family will not be the same without you. Your traditions and Greek heritage will be followed by your children and grandchildren. I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU! YASOU, TA!!!!
Love, Yanni
