Tomas Gonzalez Obituary
Tomas Gonzalez Jr., age 57, a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother passed away peacefully at his home in Derby, CT on January 28, 2013. Tommy, as so many graciously called him, was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Tomas Gonzalez and Selenia Gonzalez. He relocated to the Bridgeport area in 1968 and most recently he relocated to Derby, CT. Tommy loved the Lord with all his heart and had and intense love for the Missions spreading the gospel throughout the world. He was a member of the Greater Bridgeport Christian Fellowship Church where he served the Lord faitfully; A heart of Gold, with a determined spirit well describes Tommy's determination to do everything in life. In addition to his parents he is survived by his beloved wife Awilda Gonzalez; his sons Joshua Gonzalez, Samuel Gonzalez, William Rosario, Nathan Montalvo, and Angel Gonzalez; his brothers Luis Gonzalez and Jaime Gonzalez; his sisters Carmen Pagan, Ada Nieves, Ivette Gonzalez, and Gloria E. Rodriguez; his beloved six grandchildren and other relatives and friends who will dearly miss him. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 5:30-7 P.M. at Greater Bridgeport Christian Fellowship, 180 Boston Ave., Bridgeport, CT; The Service will start at 7 P.M. at this same location. Funeral Services are schedule for Friday, February 1, 2013 Beginning at Greater Bridgeport Christian Fellowship at 10 A.M. followed by Interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT; IN lieu of Flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Missions Department of the Greater Bridgeport Christian Fellowship Church in his memory. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Awilda and family. As we came to a very difficult time as this, words are tough to say at this time, but we all need to focus on God at this time which might be very hard to do during as such a time as this since someone that we all know and love has gone from us, but I ask in the mighty name of Jesus that God will carry all family members and friends that knew Tommy, I also ask for comfort, strength, and peace in their hearts and minds because without a shadow of a doubt, we all know where Tommy is, and I pray that God will comfort all your hearts because we will see him again.
