REMATORE, Tonino (Tony)
March 12, 1933 - August 6, 2015
Born in Faiano (Italy) passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 51 years, Bruna; his children Joanne (Frank), Santino (Sonja), Barbara, Michael (Martina) and Sam and his most treasured grandchildren Erica, Tyler, Lucas, Deianeira, Giancarlo, Mikaela, Vincenzo, Adriano and Valentina and his siblings Dante (deceased), Maria, Pina and their families. Our father had a great passion for his garden and wine-making that was enjoyed by all friends, families and neighbours. He was a fierce opponent when playing Italian card games. If he lost at a hand at Briscola, we all heard it throughout the house and it was usually his partner's fault. He was a very strong man who defied all odds throughout his illness, far surpassing what any doctor believed. His determination and will to live was unrelenting. When we reflect on our father we think of Frank Sinatra's song "I did it my way" as he indeed lived his life his way. Family together forever and for always, no matter what. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Gardens of Gethsemani Chapel, 15800 - 32 Avenue, Surrey, BC. Father Paul officiating. Flowers or donations may be made in memory of Tony to the BC Cancer Society.
At any time throughout the day or night you could hear any one of his grandchildren come into the house and ask "Where's Nonno?" to which Nonni would reply, "He's in the garden."
