Tyron Dupont Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 22, 2025.
Tyron "Ty" Dupont, devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home under hospice care on January 9, 2025, after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. He was 58 years old.

Ty was born on April 25, 1966, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Frank and Gail Dupont. He grew up in Plaquemine and attended St. John Catholic School for 12 years, where he formed cherished lifelong friendships. Ty went on to LSU and Texas State University, earning a degree in accounting.

Ty built a successful career in finance, including roles at American Airlines and Wyndham Resorts before dedicating 20 years of service to the Tarrant County Auditor's Department. Rising to the position of Accounts Payable Manager, Ty was known for his professionalism, dedication and fairness.

A man of many passions, Ty had an enduring love for Broadway musicals. He frequently traveled to New York City to see shows, delighting in every song and learning the stories of the actors who brought them to life. Mark and the boys are grateful they all got to watch the movie Wicked together as a family recently. His talent for baking was equally renowned; his wedding and celebration cakes were treasured by family and friends alike. Ty also shared a love of travel with his husband and friends, creating lasting memories on adventures across the country and around the world. Ty loved hiking in the mountains of Colorado and would search out waterfalls wherever he was.

Above all else, Ty's greatest joy was his role as a father to his two sons, Matthew and Timothy. His love for them knew no bounds, and he took immense pride in the men they have become.

Ty is survived by his husband Mark Vaughan; his sons Matthew and Timothy Dupont; his brothers Tal (Sharon), Tait (Christel), and Trevor (Wendi) and Mark's mom, Linda Nichols, along with many nephews and nieces and extended family on both sides who loved him dearly. He is equally remembered by so many dear friends and co-workers who will forever remember his kind heart, gentle spirit, radiant and smile. My heaven be filled with Broadway music, Champagne and lots of cake!

In Ty's own words, he hoped to be remembered simply "as a nice guy." May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

A celebration of this beautiful soul's life will be announced at a future date.
