Vera Temple Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 7 to Oct. 8, 2010.
TEMPLE, Vera (nee Dakin) After a long well fought battle, on the 5th of October 2010, Vera passed away, at home, among friends and family. Loving wife of the late Gordon Temple. Beloved mother to Kim Temple-Gault (Jerry) and Elizabeth Temple. Grandmother to Adam, Jordan and Marissa Gault; Megan and Rebecca Sullivan. Great-Grandmother to Hunter MacPherson and cherished friend to Jack Sawyer. Sister to Hilda (Brian), George (Beryl) and Ron. Special thanks to Dr. Cross and all the nursing staff that cared for our mother so well. Our mother trained, taught and worked for over 50 years, in England, the Ottawa Civic Hospital and U of Ottawa Heart Institute. She retired but never stopped and spent several more years volunteering as an assistant instructor with the Culinary Institute. A Memorial Service will be held at Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road on Saturday, October 9th at 10:30 am, followed by a gathering of friends and family, in the Pinecrest reception room, to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or the General Campus Cancer Centre, in her name, would be appreciated. Online condolences may be made at www.colefuneralservices.com

October 7, 2010

I met Vera when I tutored her at the Kanata Seniors Centre from August 2004 to November 2009 where I tried to help her unravel the mysteries of computers and the internet.

I greatly enjoyed the time we spent together and was impressed with her patience, her perseverance and her sense of humour.
