MANCHESTER -- Veronica A. (Igo) Finn, 87, died Jan. 21, 2010, at Holy Cross Health Center after a brief illness.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., March 26, 1922, to John T. and Alice M. (Smith) Igo. She graduated from St. Cecilia High School in Brooklyn, then lived in Brooklyn and Lynbrook, N.Y., most of her life before moving to Manchester two years ago.
She worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for several years before her children were born.
In Lynbrook, she was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Parish and was a member of the Mother's Club at that church.
IN HER LIFE: The family includes her husband of 57 years, Patrick "Wally" Finn of Manchester; two daughters, Alicia A. Finn of Manchester and Kathy V. Stefanowicz and her husband, Paul, of Cohoes, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Michael P. Stefanowicz and Eileen V. Stefanowicz; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Raphael Church, corner of Ferry and Walker streets, Manchester. Committal prayers will follow in the chapel at St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech Street, Manchester.
Memorial donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 North Main St., Suite 104, Natick, MA 01760, or to Sisters of Holy Cross - Haiti Fund, 377 Island Pond Road, Manchester 03109.
