Vincent (Vince) Ambrosio died in his home in Sarasota Florida today June 14, 2017 at the age of 94.
Vincent was born on October 31, 1922 in Motta Santa Lucia, in the province of Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy to Joseph and Josephina Ambrosio (nee Bevaqua). The family immigrated to the United States in 1924 and settled in New Rochelle New York. While he also lived in Ohio, Indiana, New Jersey and California, he had been a resident of Sarasota since 1985.
A veteran of the Second World War, Vincent graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1947 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. Vincent was the last of his generation, as he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Tani and Rita Gaddoni, and brother Dante.
Vincent was married to Elizabeth (nee McNerney) from Toledo, Ohio for 66 years. Together they had seven children: Leslie Ambrosio, Gregory (spouse Dulcy), Mary Eleanor Carlisle (spouse Clayton) and Elizabeth Crisp (spouse Cary) who all survive. Three other children (Douglas (d. 1954), David (d. 1982) and Suzanne (d. 2009)) are earlier deceased. Vincent's descendants include nine grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
