Please join us in a memorial celebration of life for Vincent Barry Coyle, 76, of Monroe, which will be held at 2:07 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at 1260 La. 604, Lake Bruin. The Rev. Matthew Long of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church will officiate. Interment was private. Mr. Coyle is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elaine Coyle; his children, Nancy Hardwick, of Dallas, Tom Coyle and wife Donna, of Coppell, Texas, Kathryn Lewis and husband Ron and Carol Regan and husband Dr. Leo Regan, all of Baton Rouge; son-in-law, Frank Hardwick; grandchildren, Hunter and Alex Hardwick, Tripp and Natalie Lewis, AnnaClaire and Rhymes Regan. He is also survived by his brother, Phillip Coyle; brother-in-law, Ray Miller; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Vince was born in Binghamton, N.Y., and died Aug. 8, 2009, in Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Cecelia Coyle; daughter, Valerie Coyle; and son, Christopher Coyle; sisters, Nancy King and Franny Miller. He was graduated from Hamilton College in 1955 where he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology, was a starting player on the basketball team, and was a member of DKE fraternity. He served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army in the psychological warfare department. He was a special agent with the FBI for 25 years and worked on the civil rights workers case in Mississippi and Brilab in New Orleans. He also was head of corporate security with Riverwood Corp. He lived his life full of joy! He had a passion for sports, especially golf and tennis where he made lifelong friends. He was active in two prayer groups and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House. He had a deep affection for the Monastery of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit. Above all he loved his family! Memorial donations may be made to The Monastery of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit, 2625 Highway 212 SW, Conyers, GA 30094-4044.
