Virginia Rubis Obituary

Virginia R. McDonald Rubis, 87, of Belle Vernon, formerly of Fayette City, died Friday, April 20, 2007, at 12:44 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born Feb. 24, 1920, in Fayette City, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Carrie Giffin McDonald. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 22 years, she attended the First Presbyterian Church of Fayette City, was a retired sales clerk, and she was a past president of the Belle Vernon VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Connie and Richard MacAllister, of Scituate, Mass., and Claudia Sandy, of Elizabeth; a son, Charles McDonald Rubis, of Smithton; seven grandchildren, Gary Sandy Jr., Carrie Sandy, Bruce MacAllister, Steven MacAllister, Charlotte Kennedy, Michael Rubis and Roxanne Rubis; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Sandy, Jenna Kennedy, Karlye Kennedy and Maria MacAllister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mona Lee Beris. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Services will be held Monday, April 23, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
