Wauwatosa, WI - Wallace Ralph Olson, known to many as "Wally," passed away on June 4, 2024, in Wauwatosa, WI, at the age of 87. He was born on December 12, 1936, in the Olson farmhouse in Wannaska, MN.

Wally is survived by his loving wife Arlene Olson (née Wilson), his children Sherry Olson, Sandy Riedel (née Olson) (Jerry), Angela Olson, his grandchildren Nathan Riedel (Christine), Cynthia Olson (Gunner Gordish), Emily Riedel, Wallace Watler, Brother Earling Olson (Marlys), Brothers-in-law Ervin Wicklander, Charles Benson, Weldon Wilson (Corrine), Gary Wilson (Vickie), Ward Wilson (Dawn), Sister-in-law Georgianne Wilson and many nieces and nephews.

Those who preceded him in death include his parents, his infant brother Dale, his sisters Dorothy Carney (Joe) and Marlys Benson, Brothers-in-law Ronald Wilson, Allan Wilson (Helen), sister-in-law Vivian Dvergsten (Donald), aunts, uncles, and nephews.

Wally proudly served in the Army for two years. His dedication and service to his country were unwavering.

A skilled Carpenter Contractor, Wally devoted over 50 years to building homes in the Milwaukee metropolitan area. He realized his dream by constructing his own home in Oconomowoc, WI, and later founded Olson Construction Company in Mequon. Notable among his projects was the construction of the Clubhouse at Kettle Hills Golf Course.

Wally found solace and community at Trinity Lutheran Church Freistadt in Mequon.

In his leisure time, Wally enjoyed Deer Hunting, Fishing, Gardening, Playing Cards, Dancing, and solving Sudoku puzzles.

A service in memory of Wally will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church Freistadt, 10729 Freistadt Road, Mequon, WI 53097.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.

Wally will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
