My wife, Joan, and I lived as fairly close neighbors and friends of Boyd and Marie Pope for many years in the East Mill Creek area of Salt Lake County. We lived there from 1967 until late December 2005. I also knew Boyd's parents, Garland and Doris Pope well. I was asked by Boyd to conduct his father's funeral. I was Boyd's home teacher for many years with John Sansom, and I also served as Garland and Doris' home teacher. So as John and I served in this capacity we became close friends and admirers of this good couple. I always found Boyd to be a friendly and good man. Through the years I have greatly enjoyed visiting he and Marie and Garland and Doris. They were always cordial and accepting in many, many ways. I pray that the Lord will bless Boyd and his good family and help them to draw near to each other and to rely on the Savior's special Spirit to strengthen them. May Heavenly Father and the Savior bless and strengthen the entire family. They are wonderful, good and loving people.
