LAKE TOMAHAWK, Wis. — Wayne R. Kettler, age 65, of Lake Tomahawk, died on September 27, 2009, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. He was born on September 30, 1943, in Milwaukee, the son of LeRoy and Ileene (nee Traxel) Kettler. Wayne was an owner/operator of a semi truck for many years; he previously worked at Ladish Corp in Milwaukee as a welder. He was a member of the Harley Hog's and of the Owner/Operator Independent Drivers Assoc., Inc. Wayne loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and rides, playing cards, hunting, fishing, was very proud of his kids' accomplishments and enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Lisa of Lake Tomahawk; children, Wayne Jr. (Paula) Kettler of Lake Tomahawk, Tom (Rebecca) Kettler of Chicago, IL, Tammy Halstead of Shawno, and Katie Kettler of Lake Tomahawk; and by grandchildren, Taylor Kettler, Cassidy Halstead and Neya Kettler; and by sisters-in-law, Laura (Gary) Krogman of Eldridge, IA, and Heather (Mark) Cooley of Clinton, IA; brother-in-law, Kevin (Lisa) Hilgendorf of Waukee, IA; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sharon and Don Hilgendorf; and many aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kathy Nicolosi. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at Bolger Funeral Home-Woodruff Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Bolger Funeral Home-Woodruff Chapel; visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor Maxine Gray will officiate. Burial will take place at Wilderness Rest Cemetery in Lake Tomahawk.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Lisa Kettler for an educational college fund for Katie.Bolger Funeral Home of Minocqua and Woodruff is assisting the family, (715) 356-3200.Death date: Sept. 27, 2009
