So sad to hear of the loss of Mr. Kimmel. I was a student of his at Banff Trail Elementary in 1974. Over the years I have thought of him very often as he truly believed in me and stood up for me as I was a student who struggled with academics as well as fitting in, I remember his way of getting us to strive better by betting chocolate bars! He was a wonderful teacher, calm, patient and willing to listen,
I am so sorry for your loss, he will always be thought of with a smile and a kind thought.

I remember Mr. Kimmel well; he came to our school (Banff Trail Elementary) in the fall of 1971. Little did he know that his homeroom students - of which I was one, would be a handful of personalities. He was unique for that era in that he was always up for open-discussion with students and he commonly shared information about his life outside of school. Mr. Kimmel: where ever it is that your soul now resides, please rest easy. Despite your inner fears, most of us have turned out okay. But most importantly, thank you for your influence; it will not be forgotten. "Cool, calm, and collected."
