Welton Smith Obituary
He will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend, Annie P. Smith, and their children: son, Steve Smith (Theresa) and their children, Joshua and Karmen; daughter, Susan Stephens (Jesse) and their children, Brandon (Jammie), their three children and Jessica. He leaves behind three siblings and will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. All of these he touched and loved deeply.
He was the founder of Smith's Heating and Air Conditioning, Calabash. Some of Smitty's hobbies were gardening, fishing and building hog cookers.
His life was celebrated Thursday, June 15, 2017, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home of Little River/North Myrtle Beach, S.C., with a service following in the funeral home chapel. Burial was at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens. Pastor Michael Gowens and Pastor Tom Gore officiated.
Those who so desire may make donations in memory of Smitty to: Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 1010 Hickman Road, Calabash, NC 28467; River of Life Baptist Church, 8411 Ocean Highway, Sunset Beach, NC 28468; or Hospice of South Carolina, 722 N. Frazer St., Unit C, Georgetown, SC 29440.

It's been a few years since he passed away, but I still think about Mr. Smith when he would by and check our Furnace. He was a hard worker and man of his word. He was one person with a a lot of caring and respect. you never know the impression that you leave on people when you leave their home. He left a good one! God bless his family.

Ann, Steve, Ann and all the rest of the families. I'm so sorry that I didn't get to attend the family time and his funeral. Danny and I went out of town on the 13th of June for a few days. I'm heartbroken. I also loved Smitty, he was always fun to be around and was a great person. I loved all the pictures and songs that is on the video--it seemed just right for him. All of you are in my prayers. Heaven has got a good one this time. Love you all.

I'm at a loss. Mr Smitty was the perfect example of a man, Dad, Grandpa and to me, a friend. He was always pleasant. Always smiling and always sweet. He greeted everyone as Sir or Ma'am. He was never negative that I ever saw.
He did an awesome job with his children and grandchildren. He was truly a good, God fearing man that I feel blessed to have been able to call my friend and spend too little time around. He will definitely be missed until we all get to see his sweet smile again. God bless Mr Smitty and his family.
