William Boudouris Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 23 to Nov. 24, 2008.
BOUDOURIS William B. William B. Boudouris, age 86, of Sylvania, passed away Saturday, November 22nd, 2008, at Kingston Residence of Sylvania, where he lived with his wife, Elinor. Bill was born May 24, 1922. His father, Vasilios (William) Boudouris passed away four months before he was born. His mother, Fediniki (Victoria) (Kaligospheris) Boudouris and stepfather, Peter Gallapis raised him. Bill was a graduate of Scott High School and attended the University of Toledo and the Ohio State University. A U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, he served aboard two aircraft carriers, the USS Cowpens and the USS Bunker Hill, earning eight stars for his participation in numerous battles and campaigns. Bill was a small business owner, prescribing and dispensing hearing aids for over 25 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sylvania, a past member of the Sylvania Rotary Club, and a 25-year member of the Sylvania Pyramid Lodge No. 287 F. & A. M.. His backyard, or as he often called it, "Shangri La", with its garden, flowers, and birds, brought him great pleasure but his greatest pleasure came from the time he spent and cherished with his family. He is survived by his wife, Elinor (Hickerson) Boudouris; sons, David (Pat), Ronald (Marilyn), Randy, and Greg (Kitty) Boudouris; grandchildren, Emily, Katie, Barbara, Lisa, Diane, Sarah, Brian, Steve, and John; former daughter-in-law, Leslie, and brother-in-law, John Papadimos. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Panagiota and Helen; and brothers, Alex and Angelo. Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, on Tuesday, November 25th, 2008 from 4-9 p.m., with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park, with military honors. The family offers a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Kingston Residence of Sylvania for their care and compassion as well as those with Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Sylvania. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www. reebfuneralhome.com

Dear Ron,
May you & all of your family find comfort in savoring the memories of all the small, but never more important & cherished than now, things about your father.
I remember listening to you as you spoke of your father....you always had a spark, a twinkle, a definite pride in your eyes that has a direct connection to your heart and spirit.
This is where you will draw your strength....and your constant sense of being who your father always wanted you to be.

Sincerely & with much love,
Sherry Wohlfarth

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
