Resident of Santa Cruz
William was born on June 29, 1939 in Lowell, Massachusetts. He was raised in Oakland, CA and moved to Santa Cruz in 1959 to raise a family with his high school sweetheart Phyllis. He and his wife Phyllis raised two daughters and a son.
He is survived by daughter Julie Lopez of Valley Springs, daughter Cherie Swan of Valley Springs, son Scott Cleworth of Santa Cruz, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
William later married Carolyn Maddox and found his love and passion breeding and raising golden retrievers. He worked as a milkman for Producers Dairy for nearly 30 years and attended Saint Joseph's Catholic Church. He loved his family, church, cooking, reading, working on cars, and doing home improvements.
Services will be held at 1pm on Friday January 27 at Saint Joseph's of Capitola located at 435 Monterey Avenue, Capitola. All are invited to attend.

so I accidentally hit a button and I don't know if this message got to you guys but this is Marie Smithson used to be Marie Neve my father was Jeremy my mom Barbara knee she used to babysit Scott and Julie and I am trying to get a hold of Scott kleworth or Julie Lopez because I have a record here that is of your mom and has a charice picture on it and your mom's and it's of Holly's birthday party and it was a recording of I don't know what all but and has some signatures of Philomena on the back love always Philomena so you might want to get a hold of me I go by Marie Smithson I don't know what to tell you how to do this to get back to me but I would sure appreciate you letting me know when way or another whether you would like this because if you already have one and you went want it then I'll just toss it

Bill, You're one of the best friends I ever had. I think of you often, of all you taught me, of all that you did for me and so many others. Of all the fun we had together, lots of times with our buddies and our families. I'll keep on thinking of you, and now that you're with God in heaven, I'll be talking with you and praying to you. Do give Dennis my best. Love.
