William R. Halford

William R. Halford, known to many as Bill, passed away on February 26, 2018 at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He was 58. Bill was a fourth-generation Bixby family member and the CEO of Bixby Land Company, where he leaves a lasting impact. A native of Southern California, Bill attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, and began his career working for XEROX and IBM in Silicon Valley. His substantial career in real estate began with Transpacific Development Company, where he was eventually responsible for all aspects of the company. In 1994, he returned to Southern California to work for the Irvine Company, where he ultimately presided over the Office Properties Division. That same year he was nominated to join the Board of Directors of Bixby Land Company. In 2006, after his tenure at the Irvine Company, Halford was named the eighth president and CEO of Bixby Land Company. Bill was an influential leader in the real estate community and an active supporter of the Center for Real Estate at University of California, Irvine. His passions included golf, travel, art, architecture and his three pugs Margeaux, Wallace and Wilson. He is survived by his wife Cindy Halford, daughter Ali Halford and son Bixby Halford, mother Suzy Halford, and sister Heidi Halford. A celebration of life is planned.
