William Halstead

William “Bill” Halstead, age 34, of Minneapolis died on Sunday, August 3, 2008 in Minneapolis.Born on May 9, 1974 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, he was the son of Ervin and Sharon (Mason) Halstead. Bill graduated from Waterville-Elysian/Morristown High School in 1992 and went on to attend the U of MN-Waseca and technical college in Austin. He worked for the Dept. of Homeland Security for several years and most recently was employed in administration with Fairview Hospital. Bill enjoyed spending time with his friends, playing games and cards. He was also a supporter of the AIDS Walk.Bill is survived by his parents, Ervin and Sharon Halstead of Waterville; two sisters, Shannon Jeffries and her children, Christopher, Amy and Sara of Waterville and Becky (Jim) Taylor and their children MacKenzie and Haley of Waterville. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Helen Mason; paternal grandparents, Lester and Amy Halstead; and one aunt, Shirley Baynes.Visitation will be held at Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 from 4-7 PM.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2008, at 10:30 AM at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Waterville with Rev. Eldon Eklund officiating. Burial will follow at Tivoli Cemetery in rural Eagle Lake.
