William Hoover Obituary

William K. "Bill" Hoover Sr., 70, of Chippewa Township, Beaver County, passed away Friday, June 8, 2007, in the Medical Center, Beaver. He was born July 5, 1936, in Kittanning, a son of Frances G. Delp Hoover, of Kittanning, and the late Roy A. Hoover Sr. He was a retired plant supervisor with Hanson Chemical Co. and was a former maintenance foreman with Koppers Chemical Plant in Petrolia and Bridgeville. He was a Scout Master with the Rochester Sea Scouts and was a life member of the Rochester B.P.O.E. Lodge 283. He loved boating, roller skating and working with computers. He was a member of the former First United Presbyterian Church, Rochester. He is survived by his wife, Mary Belle J. Jamieson Hoover; a son and daughter-in-law, William J. "Jim" and Sandra Hoover, of East Brady; two daughters and a son-in-law, Melinda A. Walsh, of Hooksett, N.H., and Kimberly J. and Kevin Johnson, of Orange Park, Fla.; six grandchildren, Jamie Rodgers and her husband, Scott, of Erie, Lauren Hoover, of East Brady, Maegan Nelson, of Reno, Nev., Emily, Haley and Carly Johnson, all of Orange Park, Fla.; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, John Hoover and his wife, Karen, of Clearwater, Fla., and Gregory Hoover and his wife, Mary, of Bartow, Fla. He was preceded in death by a son, William K. Hoover Jr., in 1993; and two brothers, Roy Hoover Jr., in 1983, and Lawrence Hoover, in 2001. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with his pastor, the Rev. Frank R. Churchill Jr., officiating, assisted by Pastor Bill Silver. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
