William A. Jenkins, age 79, of Canton passed on into Heaven on Saturday, September 26, 2009, after a short illness. A loving husband, father, and papa who will be dearly missed and whose memory will be cherished forever. He was born November 30, 1929 in Pulaski, TN and served in the US Army as a sergeant during the Korean War Conflict. He was retired from Superior Meats in Massillon and the Akro Corp. of Canton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Davis; father, Rev. Noble Jenkins; brother, Solomon Jenkins; sisters, Marie Elder and Virginia Holt; Aunts, Carie Howard and Izora Reynolds; grandmother, Lizzie Harney and grandchildren, Marqueesha and Trayvon. He was loving husband to Francesca Jenkins; devoted father to six children, Antonietta, Gina (and her husband, Donnie), William Jr. (and his wife, Elisha), Paulette (and her partner, Tracie), William Earl and Clifton Marshall (and his wife, Linda); dear grandfather to thirteen, Matthew, Mario, Shelby, Sydney, Tennea, Makayla, Marquan, Tatyana, William III, Mia' Francesca, Tory, Miles and Wesley; dear great grandfather to two, Madden and Massen. He also has a step mother, Marie Worthy; one sister, Mary Ellen Jenkins; one brother, W.L. and a host of nieces and nephews surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at 7pm at Reed Funeral Home CANTON Chapel. There will be calling hours on Thursday from 5pm to 7pm prior to services. Final interment will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH at a later date. Those wishing can view this obituary and sign the on-line guestbook at www.reedfuneralhome.com.
