William L. Keele, 84, born Billie Lee, went to his heavenly home on January 20, 2009. Born May 30, 1924 in Jet, Oklahoma, he was the youngest son of Jess and Hattie Keele. He was a man of many talents and accomplishments. He was recognized by those who knew and loved him as a wonderful friend, mentor and a loving and generous husband, father, grandfather and uncle. William grew up and graduated from high school in Red Rock, OK. He received a degree in Animal Husbandry from Oklahoma State University where he was a member of Farm House Fraternity. He married the love of his life, Thelma Bettinger, on October 3, 1947. He served in WWII and became an accomplished entrepreneur. In 1966, he founded Sirloin Stockade Restaurants. He also established Billie Lee Pies and Fred Gangs Restaurants. Once retired, he pursued his love of motorhoming with his constant companion, Thelma. He passed down the love of travel to his adoring family. William is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lorraine Shiflet. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Thelma Keele sister, Vangie Clendenin brother, Jim Keele son, William L. Keele, Jr. and wife Dena son, Kelly Keele daughter, Karan Leyh and husband John daughter, Sandi Morgan and husband Randy grandchildren, Angela Muller and husband Max, Dustin Keele and wife Christine, Heather Bourkovski and husband Sasha, Kendra Powell and husband John, Cassie Sewell and husband Brian, Jayson Leyh, Colin Morgan, Alli Morgan great grandchildren, Tycho and Ansel Muller and Nadya Bourkovski and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will take place at 11:30AM, Saturday, January 24, at Crown Heights Christian Church at 4020 North Western, Oklahoma City. Memorial contributions may be made to Crown Heights Christian Church 405-528-5568.

To Thema, Bill and Dena and family, I just heard today of Bill's death. He was an inspiration to me of what a person can be as they reach there senior years. He was so enthusiastic about every thing he did but especially about his family. I will miss his visits with me that were alway fascinating and full of infomation and good tips for life. I will miss him.

Thelma and family...we are so saddened to hear about Bill. We feel like wr knew him personally, because Mom and Dad spoke so much about you and Bill...Our dad "loved him like a brother". Oh, have we heard some "Bill and Charlie" stories!
