William NIMALOVITCH Obituary

Published by Saskatoon StarPhoenix from May 30 to Jun. 2, 2015.
William Joseph (Bill) Nimalovitch
January 30, 1935 - May 27, 2015
Bill passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 surrounded by the love and comfort of family at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon after a courageous battle with severe medical health issues. Bill is survived by his two sisters: Alice Howes (Don) and Tina Dryhorub. Also: Sylvia Nimalovitch, children Dwayne Nimalovitch (Janice), Betty-Ann Farion (Phil), Brian Nimalovitch (Wanda), Brent Nimalovitch (Tim). Also: Virginia Riffel, children Joseph Riffel (Tracy), Regina Kreke (Lyle), Laura Riffel (Brad), Mark Riffel (Shelley). Bill is also survived by grandchildren: Curtis (Stacey), Evan (Jolene), Ashley (Matt), Dylan, Justice, John, Brody, Rayann, Darby, Mitchell, Carly, Jacey and Joley. Great-grandchildren: Quinton, Mathew, Jorryn, Presly, Weston, Nixen, and Keaton. Bill was predeceased by: parents Joseph and Tina Nimalovitch, sister Juliet Kuchirka, daughter Colleen Nimalovitch and son Randy Nimalovitch. Bill was born January 30, 1935 and was raised in North Battleford, SK by his parents. At a very young age, Bill began working for and with his father. This experience instilled in him a strong work ethic that remained with him throughout all his work and business endeavors. Bill eventually moved to Saskatoon for employment purposes and began working as a body man at Mid City Motors. During this time, he also began selling Christmas trees with a friend. Bill left Mid City to open B&B Auto Body with a partner and finally after time he established his final business, BN Metals and Steel. Bill's determination and hard work made the business prosper and grow from a small shop originally to a larger one at a new location. In 2002, Bill retired and passed BN Metals to his son. Although Bill worked very hard, he also found time for his favourite things. He loved the great times spent with Tina, Mike, Hattie and friends fishing northern Saskatchewan, especially Canoe Lake or on the big water in B.C. with Alice and Don. He also loved hunting and fishing with his pal, Orest and eating Vickie's cooking. Bill cherished time with family whether it be a game of Kaiser or aggravation he was always up to give someone a "whoopin". Most of all, he loved to visit and tease the grandchildren and the great-grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. The Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of St. George, 214 Avenue M South, Saskatoon. Memorial donations may be made either to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan or the Lung Association of Saskatchewan.
