Dr. William B. O'Connor, 81, of Lakeview Drive, Taylor Lake, Keyser, WV, died Monday, December 2, 2013 at his residence.
Born on April 25, 1932 at Cumberland, MD, he was a son of the late Guy Vincent "Patty" and Virginia (Barnard) O'Connor. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Jeannette "Tommie" (Ward) O'Connor on October 22, 2006 and by a son, Patrick Scott O'Connor.
Dr. O'Connor was a dentist in Frostburg, MD, operating his own private practice for 21 years. He was a 1950 graduate of Keyser High School and graduated in 1959 from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-53 during the Korean Conflict. 
In his younger years, Dr. O'Connor attended the Keyser Presbyterian Church and was a past member of many organizations in the Frostburg and Cumberland areas, including the Elks Club, Lions Club, Ali-Ghan Shrine Club and the American Legion. He was currently a member of Lodge # 662, Loyal order of Moose in Keyser. He was an avid golfer, having been a member of both the Maplehurst Country Club and the Cumberland Country Club. He also loved hunting and fishing. Dr. O'Connor was also very community oriented and supported many philanthropic ventures in the Frostburg community during the 1970's.
Surviving are two sons, John O'Connor and wife Julie of Frostburg and Michael O'Connor of Harpers Ferry, WV; two daughters, Kelly McKenzie and husband John and Katy Fresh and husband Chris, all of Frostburg; one sister, Patricia "Patsy" Sanders of State College, PA and six grandchildren, Jacob, Jesse, Jaclyn and Jamie Fresh and Megan and Lauren McKenzie. Also surviving are his uncle and aunt, Tom and Thelma O'Connor of Keyser and his special caretakers and close friends who went beyond the extra mile, Rick and Becky Ravenscroft of Keyser.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 12:00 until 3:00 p.m. 
Services will be conducted immediately following the visitation at 3:00 p.m.
Private committal services for the family will be led at the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
