I always called him Uncle Roy even though technically he's "Great Uncle Roy". He really was one of my favorite people to be around, always positive with a big heart. Thanks Roy for being there for my Eagle Scout and Graduation and never forgetting to remind me how proud you were of me. Say hi to your sister for me, I always felt close to Grammie when you were around.

Top Sherry was always a pleasure to talk to and to see coming through the Sgt Grit doors. He always had a joke or a quick jab at our sister services. I will miss his presence and the wealth of knowledge that he always had to share. Even though to him I will always be considered a boot Marine, he will always be my friend and my brother. Semper Fi Top, Fair winds on your final journey.

Mr. Sherry was a valuable volunteer at Coronado Heights Elementary. For many years he could be found in our cafeteria on Friday mornings popping popcorn for our students. He also participated in our Veterans' Day assembly and proudly sang the national anthem and his Marine Corps song. We loved having him at our school.

Roy Sherry was a dear friend and an invaluable member of the Marine Corps League. Small in stature but giant in spirit. Roy survived the "Frozen Chosin" reservoir battle in Korea and returned to OKC for a distinguished career with Fox Battery 2/14 and a long career with the post office. All of us at the Marine Corps League will miss him. Rock Lyons, Commandant Sooner Det. Marine Corps League.
