William Skojec Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 22 to Jan. 28, 2024.
Vestal - William Skojec, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on January 17th 2024 at his home in Vestal, New York. Bill is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 59 years, Kathe, his two children Dan and Lisa, his daughter-in-law Frannie Hsu, son-in-law Jeff Nossal, daughter-in-law Lisa Ann Skojec and granddaughter Callie. Bill graduated from Gerard College in Philadelphia PA, and Broome Community College where he received All American status two years in a row for soccer, and was equally as talented in baseball. Bill served in the army as a morse code intercept operator in Japan and had a successful career at IBM that spanned 29 years. Bill was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had a great sense of humor that never failed to entertain and was generous, kind, and always optimistic. Spending time at his cottage in Pennsylvania was one of his greatest joys. At Bill's request there will be no visitation or funeral services. He wanted to be remembered as he lived and was known. For anyone who wants to make a contribution, Bill wished that you donate to True Friends Animal Welfare Center 16332 SR706 Montrose, PA 18801 in honor of his love for animals.

Bill was one of my closest friends a Girard College (the Hum). He was a great friend and I tried to contact him many many times, but could never do it. My sincere condolences go out to his family. I'm glad he had a great life.

I always felt a strong connection with Uncle Bill as we shared the same name William Skojec. He was William J. While I was William C. I remember him smiling more often than not and when we saw each other always asking about my life genuinely. Also when we were together there was much laughter. He often called me through the years as friends trying to locate me left him messages thinking he was me. This world lost a truly good man.

He will be in my memories as a loving uncle. There are many memories of Christmas there and grandma and grandpa´s house. You always felt at home there.
